FM- Architettura d’Interni, the Italian Atelier has designed and decorated a two-storey penthouse just a short distance from Red Square, in the centre of Moscow.
For FM – Architettura di Interni, the client’s brief was clear from the outset: to create a penthouse that could host events and concerts but which was also a strictly “off limits” family home where he could enjoy everyday life with his nearest and dearest.
Taking the 500+m² set out over two floors, FM- Architettura d’Interni created a hidden space for the family’s sleeping area which is accessed by a secret door at the entrance to the property, a formal double height living room with a piano and HiFi system for music lovers, an extraordinary open library, a business room next to the kitchen and dining room and, last but not least, a stunning orangerie which is a definite one-of-a-kind as it affords breathtaking views over the Moskva River and the statue of Peter the Great.
On the first floor is the sleeping area with two bedrooms and the master bedroom, the formal living room with bar and piano, and access to the upper floor.
The formal double height living room is bright and airy, with a welcoming sophisticated style and features an unexpected surprise: the library. Designed and built to hold highly prestigious and ancient Russian books, it is an architectural masterpiece of space and light.
The 90 m² ceiling in the living room is fitted with the very best in home automation, it is back lit and made of glass and crystal. It also houses a latest generation HiFi system.
The color palette focuses on moon gold, cognac and brown and all their shades to create a refined, welcoming and warm atmosphere. The materials used are rosewood, ebony and honey-coloured onyxes.
The travertine walls underlined by the black Portoro marble make the living room stunning and elegant.
The business room, with its suede panelling, is flooded with natural light from the skylights and an oval window with coloured glass, which guests easily mistake for a decorative feature, looks down onto the living room.
All the interiors have been custom designed by FM- Architettura d’Interni, calling on the expertise of Italian master craftsmen.
